This project will transcode all media formats being supported by DirectShow using a DirectShow filter to MJPEG and MP3.
It will call a function within an external DLL after each movie frame was converted to JPEG and will provide the JPEG buffer to this function as well as the MP3 buffer.
The transcoding needs to be done without conversion to RGB.
The main emphasis of this project is performance. The performance requirement is to transcode a full screen AVI and WMV movies with resolution of 1920x1080 (HD) in real-time with at least of 30 frames per second using a 1 GHz Intel CPU.
For those performance considerations Intel IPP functions should be used.
It will not display anything so for example when it will be used within a Media Player which uses DirectShow such as Microsoft Media Player, when the movie will play, nothing will be displayed on the screen.
